Equine- and Dog-Assisted Therapy for Children
Equine- and Dog-Assisted Therapy for Children from Szczecin’s Iskierka Society at the Equestrian Centre in Kamionka.
Bonin Foundation organised a picnic for children from Iskierka - an association for families and friends of children with Down’s syndrome in Szczecin.
The picnic was combined with equine- and dog-assisted therapy sessions at the equestrian centre in Kamionka near Szczecin. Children and parents from Iskierka came to Kamionka at the invitation of Jolanta Wasiukiewicz, the owner. The children had the opportunity to ride a horse for the first time and play with parson russell terriers under the supervision of instructors Jolanta and Agnieszka Wasiukiewicz. They also watched ostriches and interacted with these exotic birds. The visit to Kamionka ended with a successful integration event - a bonfire, where the participants baked potatoes together.
