Helping Older and Disabled People as an Employment Opportunity.
The project involved organising training sessions for carers of older and disabled people in Łobez. The participants were 30 people aged 45+ from Łobez County in West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Over a period of two months, each of them attended 112 hours of lectures, workshops and practice sessions led by staff members from the Community Care Home in Łobez. The subjects included law, psychology, education (including special needs education), medical nursing care and rescue, physiotherapy, social work, using computers in social rehabilitation, self-help during illness and selected medical topics. The participants gained knowledge and skills intended to help them find employment as carers of people with health problems. The training also allowed them to identify areas requiring development in their quest for self-realisation.
